Movie review: Holiday – A soldier is never off duty

Even when his family drags him straight from his arrival train, to ‘see a ladki for shaadi’, he’s in his camouf lage muftis. He's an army guy, never ever off duty. Then he's 'kayoed'. But while he's romancing his buxom boxer, sinister happenings are afoot in Mumbai. A bomb blast in a bus leads our one-man battalion to a captured terrorist, who he locks up in his closet (uh, huh) and cuts his nails (along with the fingers, mind you), to extract information about a 'sleeper cell' about to trigger serial blasts in the city.

So, military man Virat Bakshi (Akshay), with a little help from his cop friend Mukund (Sumeet Raghavan), and a lot of madad from a sniffer dog, sniffs out the members of a 'Sleeper Cell' - killing 12 of them at one go. But the cell head is far from asleep, playing a cat and mouse game of who kills whom first in a thrilling rebuttal. In a time of unexpected terror, director AR Murugadoss (remaking his 2012 Tamil Thupakki) deals with the possibilities of 'what if ...', warning civilians to be alert. Terrorists can live innocuously amidst us, until that dreadful moment...
