MEA strips Devyani Khobragade of her duties for unauthorized statements to media

According to reports, Devyani Khobragade has been placed under a 'Compulsory Watch'. An MEA spokesperson said the administrative action has been taken in connection with an ongoing inquiry against her in a vigilance case.

Khobragade remains in service but she has no job. She could also face further administrative action, said sources.

The government is also believed to be upset with Khobragade as the IFS officer, who was at the center of a diplomatic row with United States last year, failed to disclose that her two children have US passports.
